Thank you for joining the Mario Kart Double Dash Modding Wiki!

Before you get started, Click here to read the Rules page.

Keep the following in mind as you contribute to the site:

  • Make good edits. Always use the Show preview to check your changes before you use the Save Changes button. If you make a mistake, please wait 15 minutes before saving the same page a third or fourth time in a row.
  • If you plan to update a lot of pages in a short period of time, please clear it with a moderator first.
  • Write articles in third person (using words like he, she and they) instead of first person (I, me and we.) User pages and talk pages are the exceptions to this rule.
  • Use correct grammar, spelling and capitalization.
  • If someone posts on your talk page, please post a reply.
  • Sign all of your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • Don't delete anything from your talk page.
  • Use the templates on the Main Page when making new articles for content such as Custom Tracks, Texture Hacks, Characters and other releases.
  • We encourage all content makers to create a User Link to put on their release pages and to add it to the Author List Page. (Tarsa129 (talk) 20:05, 29 December 2022 (UTC))
Hey Tarsa! Alrighty, I've read the rules. -- Krank (talk) 22:32, 29 December 2022 (UTC)

Picture filesize limit

As per the wiki rules, images should be at most 500kb and in the .jpeg format (unless they are direct conversions of .bti files found in the game files). For this reason, your BCO of WC image has been deleted and removed from the Custom Track Tutorial/BCO page. Additionally, please do not edit tutorials without permission from an administrator. Hey User:Tarsa129, you are right, I did break two of the rules (file size limit and editing of official tutorials). My apologies, I didn't read the rules carefully enough. I did ask User:Yoshi2 on the Double Crew Discord though before editing the naming format at Custom_Track_Tutorial/BCO. Yoshi2 is listed as "Admin" and "Staff" in the Double Crew Discord, so I thought it would be alright.
The specified format Roadtype_0xCollisionFlag_0xExtraSettings is outdated. I used the (currently newest) release v0.8.2 of the mkdd-collision tool and the naming scheme for the materials is Roadtype_0xCollisionFlag_0xCameraFlag_0xExtraSettings now.
Also I thought adding a screenshot of an actual BCO model would be helpful to readers. None of the custom tutorials have any pictures included, instead there is a lot of talk about technical implementation details. I thought it would help readers better grasp the concepts when they can look at a concrete example.
I tried sending you a friend invite on Discord a few minutes ago, but it got rejected. Apparently you don't take friend invites. If you want to add me on Discord, my id is Moebius#3954. If you send me a friend request, I'll accept it and talk to you directly. Otherwise I'll leave an entry on the wiki talk page if I have change propositions.
