List of File Formats

Overview

This table contains a list of file formats found in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!:

Name Description
ARC File archives used to store and organize assets within the game.
AST Audio files used for the course background music and result music.
AW Used for sequenced music.
BAA Contains strings relating to course music, as well as information about various sequenced music found in the AW files.
BCA Animations primarily used with drivers, but some objects and items use them as well.
BCK Animation files used for model animations.
BCO Contains collision data.
BLA Used for cluster animations.
BLK Used for cluster animations. They are primarily used for kart shadows.
BLO Layout files used for menus throughout the game.
BLS Vertex data used in conjunction with cluster animations.
BMD Model data.
BOL Course setup files that include a track's settings, starting position, checkpoints, etc.
BPK Color animations on models.
BRK Used for TEV Registers.
BTI Image files used for 2D images in the game.
BTK Animation files used for SRT texture animations in models and images.
BTP Animation files used for texture swapping, such as a character's facial expressions.
GCI Save data files stored in GameCube memory cards.
GHT Staff ghost input data files.
JPC Archive for files relating to effects and particles used in the game.
LBD File used for DK Mountain's bridge.
SET Files used for kart settings.
THP Files used for cutscene videos, such as the opening.
